Are you a good dancer?
I’m pretty good, actually. I’m big on hip swinging and groin thrusting. Ask me anything

Balls, Milliband D, Milliband E, Burnham or Abbot?...
I’d like Diane Abbot, on the one hand, because it’d be fricking hilarious to watch her at work. She’d run rings round Cameron. And it’d be nice to see a strong black woman up at the despatch box. Andy Burnham has lovely eyes, is a Scouser, and wasn’t bad in government, but is an also ran. Ed Balls has a sort of rugged charm, and is the best qualified to me, but he...

What Have You Done Today To Make You Feel Proud? →
I’m glad you asked me, Miss Heather Small*. What I’m proud of today is Merseytravel. Liverpool’s got it’s first ever Gay Pride march on the 7th August, which I will of course be…

And your feelings about the 60s comedy version of...
It’s an insane trifle. It’s not a Bond movie, by any measurement, but as a ridiculous remnant of the Sixties, it’s a treasure. I think it’s funny, and it has a marvellous score and production design, and it’s never less than interesting. You can’t be bored watching Casino Royale. I am, however, glad that the new version finally rights the wrongs the 1967...

The government asks you to pick one closed railway...
I’d open the tunnel under Liverpool from Edge Hill to the King’s Dock. You can send trains under the city to the University, to an interchange with the Northern Line in Chinatown, and to a final terminus across from the new arena on Wapping. It’s a real boon. Alternatively I’d reopen the Luton-Dunstable line, because it’s where I grew up and it’s about to be...

Which is the best James Bond film?
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. It’s got action, romance, drama and Diana flipping Rigg being awesome. Second place goes to The Spy Who Loved Me, which is just epic fun. Ask me anything

Conversely, which is the worst James Bond film?
Objectively, I know that The Man With the Golden Gun and A View To A Kill are the worst films, in terms of quality, but my least favourite is actually For Your Eyes Only. I find it incredibly drab and dull - it has none of the magic and excitement of the regular films. Ask me anything

Conversely, which is the worst James Bond book?
The Man With The Golden Gun, but that’s not really Fleming’s fault: he did die halfway through, after all. Worst book he finished was Diamonds Are Forever, which has great moments, but is mainly just a bit of a mess. (If we’re including continuation novels, then anything Raymond Benson wrote is 1000x worse). Ask me anything

Which is the best James Bond book?
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, again. Second place goes to From Russia With Love which is a thrilling read, and the closest thing to literature in the series. Ask me anything

Love and Death (1975)
Sonja: Judgment of any system, or a priori relationship or phenomenon exists in an irrational, or metaphysical, or at least epistemological contradiction to an abstract empirical concept such as being, or to be, or to occur in the thing itself, or of the thing itself.
Boris: I've said that many times.

Why A Gay Guy Likes James Bond
Over the years of being a Bond fan, I’ve had a few questions about why I, as a homosexual, would be interested in James Bond.  Apparently, I’m not allowed to be interested in action, or sex, or violence; it would appear I’m only allowed to drink multi-coloured cocktails while listening to Kylie.   My argument has always been - half the world’s population has seen a Bond...
